Why you no work anymore?

Pet Peeves – Web Sites that Don’t Play Well with iPad Web Browsers

Hello there Virtual Goddesses and Gods! Agh, my pet peeve for today was born on Flickr. I like to browse Flickr from my iPad! I like to slump down in my big old oversized, 6 foot by 4 foot pillow, coffee on the little shelf beside me, maybe a snack, and browse Flickr and catch up on comments, faves, and all the great photos the peeps I follow are posting.

That was all just fine and dandy until sometime last week or so, when suddenly clicking the little return arrow in a comment no longer auto populates a reply with link to the person who commented. No longer does clicking on the edit button open the comment box so I can fix a typo. Nooooooo – now tapping those icons, when on my iPad, merely creates a select-copy box, as shown in the fancy pic at top of this post.

Why you no let me edit from iPad, Flickr?

Yes, I know they want me to download the app, and yes, I finally did. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good app…BUT when using a browser (usually Safari or Chrome) I don’t have to download yet another app to eat space on my iPad, and often I have several tabs open and switch between them. For example, a post I’m writing for my website plus each image I’ll be posting so it’s easy to grab the embed code, plus map locations to easily grab the slurls, plus blog links I find on Twitter and want to go read and any other links I want to include in my post.

Cheesus, if I had to switch between a different app for all those things it would take so much longer to do and I might have no mesh or flexi hairs left on my avvie head by the time I was done. Writing a post from iPad would be a colossal pain in the ass, and I like writing posts from iPad sometimes…while parking my pain free ass on my big fluffy pillow!

That concludes my pet peeve rant for today.

Got Thoughts? Please share them 😊. I love to hear your ideas and suggestions for new realms to visit!
